King Ivar.jpg

Played by rollondoson (SL Name)

King Ivar Gulbrandsen  a battle-hardened ruler at the age of 46, found himself entwined in a unique but not unusual marital arrangement. He was wedded to two women, Queen Helga, his first wife, and Queen Freya, his second. As a warrior king, Ivar's devotion to his kingdom often took precedence over his presence in the lives of his children. Preferring the frontlines of his boats, he fearlessly led his men on daring voyages, sailing miles out to sea to seize riches, gold, jewelry, and even diamonds. Anything that could be pillaged was fair game, including men and women whom they captured and brought back as slaves.

Ivar's character was marked by brusque mannerisms, yet he possessed wisdom and a sense of fairness befitting a king. He had little patience for foolishness and did not hesitate to mete out swift justice. Bouts of jealousy and rage occasionally consumed him, though as he grew older, these episodes occurred with decreasing frequency. As time passed, he found solace in remaining closer to home, attending to the responsibilities of ruling.

A proud and astute man, Ivar possessed a charismatic charm that he wielded skillfully when circumstances required. Despite his strict and formidable nature, he was also a loving father who demanded nothing less than the best from his children. He insisted they receive comprehensive instruction in warfare, craftsmanship, and a wide range of subjects encompassing writing, shipbuilding, history, and cartography. When he was present at home, he made certain to allocate ample time to each of his children, leaving an indelible impression as both a disciplinarian and a nurturing figure.

Among the king's many thralls and servants, one held a special place in his heart—Tia, an exotic slave girl. Her allure and enigmatic charm captivated Ivar, establishing her as his favorite among them.

As King Ivar's journey continued, his legacy would be shaped not only by his conquests on distant shores but also by the intricate dynamics of his personal life. The complexities of love, loyalty, and the pursuit of power would weave a tapestry of both triumphs and challenges, leaving an indelible mark on the story of his reign.

Ivar is ruggadly handsome, battle scars across his face and body, he’s tall almost 7ft, broad shouldered and strong. Dark brown hair, and hazel eyes, sun weathered skin,

Helga 2.jpg

Played by EveEvangaline

Queen Helga Gulbrandsen , a woman of 44 years, possessed an impressive presence characterized by her tall, lean frame and fair complexion. With chiseled cheekbones and striking features, she exuded an air of regal beauty. Her captivating dark blue eyes held depths of wisdom and resilience. In her prime, she had been a renowned shield maiden, a formidable warrior whose skills remained intact even as the years advanced. The strength and agility she possessed made her appear much younger than her actual age.

Despite her martial prowess, Queen Helga embodied a nurturing and loving nature. She embraced her role as a devoted wife to King Ivar and a mother to their children. In a testament to her magnanimity, she extended her love and care to Freya's children, treating them as if they were her own. The acceptance of her husband's decision to take a second wife was not without its complexities, but Queen Helga understood that such arrangements were customary, particularly within the royal circles of the Norveg. While she knew her husband loved her deeply, she could not escape the pangs of jealousy that arose within her when it came to his lover, Tia. There was a profound realization in Queen Helga's heart that Tia had captured the affection of King Ivar in a way that surpassed mere infatuation, and this stirred a deep sense of hurt within her.

Despite her mostly kind nature, Queen Helga found it difficult to suppress her jealous sentiments, particularly when it came to Tia. At times, this bitterness translated into cruel treatment directed towards her nemesis. This conflict within her, between love for her husband and the turmoil of her jealousy, created an emotional landscape fraught with both tenderness and resentment

In Queen Helga's intricate character, one could witness the interplay of love, duty, and vulnerability. Her remarkable qualities as a shield maiden blended with her roles as a wife and mother, shaping her into a multifaceted woman whose inner world was a tapestry of strength and compassion.

picture frame.png

Queen Freya Gulbrandsen , at the age of 43, occupied a markedly different position compared to Queen Helga. Unlike Helga, Freya harbored no feelings of jealousy towards the slave girl Tia; in fact, she felt an indifference toward her presence, treating her as she would any other slave within the household. While understanding Helga's jealousy, Freya recognized the depth of love that her co-wife held for King Ivar, acknowledging that her own affection for him paled in comparison. Though she loved Ivar, her feelings were tempered, lacking the intensity that burned within Helga's heart.

Freya often found herself daydreaming of a different life, one where she could be with a man who would devote more time and attention to her needs. Her gaze would occasionally wander toward Erik, the handsome brother of the king, when they gathered in the great hall. Unlike Helga, Freya was not a shield maiden and lacked physical strength. She possessed a petite and curvaceous figure, accentuated by her light blonde hair and enchanting pale green eyes. Her nature was characterized by chattiness and flirtatiousness, particularly in the absence of King Ivar. She loved her children, but her maternal instincts did not match those of Helga, leaving her aware that her offspring likely viewed Helga as more of a mother figure than herself.

Selfishness could be counted among Freya's traits, as she often prioritized her own leisure time. Indulging in wine and gossip, she reveled in moments that allowed her to escape the mundane realities of her life. Her husband, aware of her desires, sought to appease her with precious jewels and gold, which she proudly flaunted to the world. She couldn't help but feel that these lavish gifts were compensation for the lack of attention Ivar bestowed upon her.

Within Queen Freya's complex character, one could discern a blend of yearning, self-indulgence, and a longing for a life that would offer more fulfillment. Her intrinsic qualities, juxtaposed with the dynamics of her marriage and coexistence with Helga, painted a portrait of a woman who sought solace in fleeting pleasures, while grappling with the knowledge that she might never fully experience the depth of love she craved.

His cruel tendencies marred his reputation, leaving a trail of discomfort and fear in his wake.

In the realm of warfare and combat, Leif found solace. He displayed exceptional skill on the battlefield, leaving his enemies trembling in his wake. Ingrid, 25, found herself bound by an arranged betrothal to Crown Prince Drakecon, the heir to the empire of Latium. This union had been brokered long before either of them were even born, a testament to the political maneuverings that shaped the destiny of royal families.

Ingrid, the epitome of elegance, possessed a statuesque figure akin to her mother's, accompanied by striking good looks that captivated those who beheld her. Her personality mirrored her outward charm, as she exuded a lively and friendly demeanor, always extending kindness to those she encountered. However, her position as the King's daughter had led to a certain level of indulgence, making her somewhat accustomed to having her desires fulfilled. At times, her demands could become rather insistent when met with resistance. While she cherished the love and deep connection she shared with her father, she also harbored a healthy fear of his authority, aware of the boundaries set by his unwavering control.

From a young age, Ingrid had been aware of her destiny to marry the heir to The Latium throne, and she once held romanticized dreams of the day she would become Empress beside her handsome Emporer Yet, as the inevitable wedding day drew near and transformed into a tangible reality, apprehension seeped into her heart. The thought of leaving behind her beloved home and family cast a shadow of doubt and fear. In her desperation, she approached her father multiple times, attempting to convey her unhappiness and reluctance towards this marriage with a man she barely knew, save for a brief encounter during her childhood. However, her pleas fell on deaf ears, as her father dismissed her concerns, urging her to be grateful for the rare opportunity to experience life as an Empress—a privilege bestowed upon few, if any.

Again her stubbornness to accept refusal, had her take up a new great plan she’d mused over for hours with her favourite and beloved sibling Astrid,

After all of Ingrids planning and plotting, eventually she did fall in love deeply with Drakeon, and enter a happy marraige with him,  but sadly she was to lose him during the war of the heirs, finding her self now a young widow.

THE KINGS CHILDREN WITH HIS SECOND WIFE FREYA

Astrid, at the age of 25, possessed a petite and curvaceous frame, reminiscent of her mother Freya, complemented by delicate features and long, flowing blonde hair. Her hazel eyes, inherited from her father, added a touch of warmth and depth to her gentle countenance.A small scar across her lip, barely noticeable till you look close enough, garnered while she was riding her white mare, across the vast and harsh landscape of Norveg, her horse throwing her, when it slipped on the icey harsh ground of winter.  While she spoke softly and carried herself with impeccable manners, there was an underlying spark of adventure within her, a yearning to explore the world just as her father had done by traversing the vast seas.

Despite her mother's limited availability and her father's frequent absences, Astrid never lacked parental affection. Queen Helga, ever attentive and loving, made it a point to be there for her, offering comfort, hugs, and engaging conversations whenever Astrid needed them. This unwavering love from Helga nurtured a deep bond between them, solidifying Astrid's admiration and adoration for her step mother. Furthermore, she shared a profound love for her half-sister, Ingrid.

picture frame.png

Jarl Sven, at the age of 24, took after his father in terms of his tall and lean stature, sporting dark brown hair and captivating hazel eyes. As a child, Sven was full of joy and embraced the outdoors, spending his days playing with both the children of the court and the children of slaves. He harbored no prejudices or resentments, treating everyone with kindness and generosity. He had a giving nature, often sharing what he had with those less fortunate, embodying a spirit of compassion.

Unlike some of his siblings, although as with tradition, he has carried out many raids with his father, Sven did not possess a passion for warfare or the desire to venture across the seas like his father and brother. While he was trained in combat, honing his skills as a swordsman and axe thrower, his true interests lay elsewhere. Sven had a keen intellect, coupled with a sense of humor and wit. When he wasn't playfully teasing his sisters, he could often be found engrossed in the study, delving into the pages of old leather-bound books and parchment scrolls. His thirst for knowledge led him to explore a variety of subjects, further expanding his understanding of the world.

Sven had been wed to Kiera prior to the tumultuous events of the War of the Heirs. However, in the complex web of political alliances and strategic maneuvers that characterized the time, he made the difficult decision to release her from their marriage contract.

Despite their previous bond, Sven understood the necessity of allowing Kiera to pursue a marriage that would serve the interests of her family and her realm. By releasing her from their union, he enabled her to wed the King of Alban, thereby honoring the dying wish of her sister, Queen Nylaria. This act of selflessness and sacrifice demonstrated Sven's commitment to the greater good, even at the expense of his personal desires.

In relinquishing Kiera to fulfill her sister's request, Sven played a crucial role in solidifying diplomatic ties and ensuring the stability of the region in the aftermath of war. Though it required him to set aside his own happiness, he understood the importance of placing the needs of the kingdom above his own. Thus, his actions stood as a testament to his sense of duty and honor, even in the face of personal sacrifice.

In a tragic turn of events, Altomore met his untimely demise while reveling with his brothers, Ivar, Erik, and Odin, in the grand long hall. The brothers had gathered to celebrate the bountiful spoils of a successful raid, their tankards brimming with potent mead. It was not uncommon for their boisterous and spirited nature to escalate into playful insults and occasional brawls. Such moments were seen as opportunities to further strengthen the bonds that tied them together.

Fueled by a potent combination of energy, adrenaline, testosterone, and mead, the brothers taunted and challenged one another, goading one another to strike with greater force. Laughter filled the air as Odin's punch landed squarely on Altomore's temple, sending him crashing to the floor. However, the jovial atmosphere quickly dissipated as the realization dawned upon them—Altomore remained motionless, his stillness far from an act.

Shock replaced merriment, swiftly followed by profound sadness as the brothers grasped the irreversible truth that Altomore had been lost to them with a single fateful blow. Jarl Erik Gulbrandsen , at 40 years old, was known for his captivating charm, intelligence, and wit. He possessed remarkable physical beauty and stood tall, making him one of the most desired men in the realm. Erik had a reputation for his amorous pursuits and had taken numerous lovers and mistresses. He indulged in the pleasures of the flesh, often engaging with both courtesans and slaves. However, his insatiable sexual appetite led to brief encounters as he preferred the thrill of the chase. The more unattainable a woman seemed, the more he desired her.

In recent times, Erik noticed Freya, his brother's wife, casting flirtatious glances in his direction. She became the epitome of the unattainable, which only fueled his desire further. Yet, he also recognized the potential risks of pursuing such a forbidden affair. He was well aware of King Ivar's fierce protectiveness over his wives, and crossing that line would surely incur his brother's wrath. Moreover, Erik considered the fact  Ivar already shared the prized possession of Tia, .with him on occasions.

Despite his numerous infidelities, Erik truly loved and cherished his darling petite and beautiful wife, Princess Merlaida. She was the mother of his children, and he was fiercely protective of his family. Battle-weary from his experiences in numerous wars and pillages alongside his older brother, Erik had spent months at sea, albeit not as frequently as Ivar. He, too, had participated in capturing slaves during their expeditions, ensuring to bring back the most beautiful ones.

Always brimming with energy, Hilda sought to keep herself busy. She dedicated herself to caring for the less fortunate, particularly the poor and those injured in battle. She delved into the study of herbs and medicines, becoming a skilled healer in the process. Even though they had numerous slaves to attend to their household chores, Hilda preferred to personally cook for her own family. She found joy and fulfilment in preparing meals for her loved ones.

Initially, when she married Prince Brandon, Hilda moved to Alban with him. However, she experienced deep homesickness and misery in the unfamiliar surroundings. Sensing her unhappiness, Brandon made the compassionate decision to bring her back to her beloved home in the Norveg, especially during her pregnancy with their first child. Over time, Brandon realized how content and fulfilled Freya was in her homeland, and they decided to settle in Norveg permanently, establishing a home there that brought them both happiness.

Jarl Odin Gulbrandsen, at 34 years old, carried the weight of sorrow and guilt upon his broad shoulders. His countenance often wore a scowl, reflecting the somber and moody nature that had settled within him. Fierce and formidable, he possessed the appearance of a battle-hardened warrior, honed by numerous raids throughout the years. Odin's daring and reckless nature led him to be at the forefront of every battle, as if tempting fate itself.

The tragic night that claimed the life of his elder brother, Altomore, haunted Odin relentlessly. Even though the fatal blow he struck was unintentional and he was but an 18-year-old lad at the time, he could never forgive himself. The memory of the anguish etched upon Alena, Altomore's grieving widow, when she received the devastating news, remained seared in Odin's mind. He had not only become the cause of her widowhood but also had robbed his young niece and nephew of their father. The weight of this remorse was unbearable, driving him to flee the very next morning. Boarding a Viking ship, he embarked on a solitary journey that lasted two long years.

During his time away, Odin found solace in the vastness of the sea and the distant lands he encountered. His travels provided moments for introspection and a means to channel his anger and frustration. Leaving destruction in his wake, he unleashed his pent-up emotions upon his surroundings, seeking some form of catharsis. The details of his voyage and the hardships endured remained shrouded in silence.

Upon his eventual return, Odin bore the scars of his experiences, both physical and emotional. He emerged from his self-imposed exile a changed man, hardened and resolute. While he chose not to divulge the specifics of his journey, the transformation he underwent was evident in his demeanor. The scowl across his brow now carried a hint of wisdom and resilience, acquired through trials known only to him.

The burden of guilt remained, serving as a constant reminder of the irreversible consequences of a single, fateful moment. Yet, Odin's return symbolized a renewed commitment to his lineage and responsibilities as Jarl. The shadows of the past would forever shape his path, but he resolved to honor his fallen brother's memory by wielding his newfound strength and wisdom in service to his people.

Jarl Odin Gulbrandsen stood as a testament to the duality of the human spirit—a man marked by tragedy, tempered by the crucible of his experiences, and determined to forge a path forward despite the lingering shadows of his past.

King Ivars , In-laws, nieces, nephews and other relations

picture frame.png

Princess Merlaida Gulbrandsen , at 40 years old, is the wife of Jarl Erik and the sister of the King of Alban. Despite her average height for a Alban lady, she appeared small in comparison to her towering Viking husband Erik. Merlaida possessed a small frame with captivating physical features that made her incredibly desirable to both Erik and many other men in the kingdom. Her curvaceous figure, with large breasts, a small waist, and shapely hips and bottom, added to her allure. She had pale alabaster skin that accentuated her striking features, such as her large light blue eyes that almost appeared turquoise in certain lighting. Her tiny upturned nose and freckles sprinkled across her face only enhanced her beauty, which seemed to grow more captivating with age.

Merlaida conducted herself with grace and elegance, rarely raising her voice even in moments of anger or frustration. While she was aware of Erik's affairs and lovers, they bothered her little because she knew they meant nothing and that he would always return to her. However, what pained her was Erik's prolonged absences on his sea voyages. She often pleaded with him to stay, and he yielded to her requests more than once, unable to resist her tears. It was during these times apart, when Erik was at sea, that Merlaida's heart ached for him and she longed for his presence.

She shared a close friendship with her sister-in-law, Hilda, and often sought solace in spending time alone at her house, now that her beloved children  were all but grown, she saw less of them. Recently, Merlaida had taken up lessons from Hilda, learning skills such as medicine and even cooking. Although her cooking attempts resulted in a kitchen mishap or two, one being the burning down of Hildas kitchen!, she found comfort in these hobbies, as they helped distract her from the loneliness she experienced during Erik's absences. Fortunately, Erik had been away less frequently as of late, providing her with some respite from her solitude.

picture frame.png

Prince Brandon Brenthorne, at 38 years old, brother of the King of Alban and married to Hilda. While Brandon had an average height, he possessed a sturdy and strong build. He was known for his exceptional swordsmanship and had once served as the Lord Chancellor, hand of the King for his brother. However, he willingly relinquished this esteemed position for the love of his life, his fiery wife Hilda, whom he affectionately referred to as his "little flame." When Hilda experienced homesickness, Brandon brought her back to Noverg, demonstrating his unwavering devotion to her.

Although he might not be considered a naturally kind man, when it came to Hilda, Brandon would go to great lengths to please her. He adored his wife wholeheartedly. While he often presented himself as studious and serious in matters of business, within the confines of their home, laughter would resonate from him and his family. They lived a life of happiness, contentment, and love. Brandon was equally adored by his wife and children, as they held the utmost priority in his life above all else.

Despite his training to become a Knight, where his physical prowess was evident, Brandon was not solely defined by his strength. He possessed intelligence and extensive knowledge, allowing him to read and create maps. It was a combination of his diverse skills, including his sword fighting expertise, calm demeanor, and intellectual abilities, that led King Ivar to invite him to join his council. In this role, Brandon contributed his insights and counsel to the kingdom's governance

Slaves of the Royal Household

picture frame.png

Tia,(Tiatahanna) the slave of King Ivar, possessed an air of intrigue and allure at the age of 30. She commanded more respect within the royal household than any other slave or servant, owing to her status as the king's favourite.  Tia knew without a doubt that King Ivar was very fond of her, but her love for him burned with intensity. However, there was one desire that eluded her heart's deepest longing—her freedom. The king had promised her emancipation someday, but as the years passed, that day remained elusive. Tia often pondered the reasons behind his hesitance. Did he fear that she would leave him the moment she obtained her freedom? He had confided in her, expressing his certainty that she would depart, and at times, she found herself contemplating the possibility. Perhaps the king understood her better than she understood herself. It had been an eternity since she set foot on the distant shores of her homeland, and her heart still ached for the family she left behind. She wondered if her parents and siblings were still alive, forever haunted by the uncertainty. However, her love for Ivar was fervent, and she couldn't fathom a life without him. In the depths of her conflicted heart, she harbored both bitterness for all that she had lost and an unwavering love for her king.

Tia possessed an exotic beauty that enthralled all who laid eyes upon her. Her dark olive skin radiated a unique allure, perfectly complemented by the pools of deep brown eyes that held an alluring depth. Long locks of silken black hair cascaded down her back, framing her face and accentuating her features. Thick, dark eyelashes framed her expressive eyes, further captivating those who beheld her. Her curvaceous figure was a source of pride, and she delighted in showcasing her feminine allure when she danced for the king and the other members of the royal household in the Great Hall. Trained in the art of exotic dancing when she first arrived in the Lowlands at the tender age of 18, Tia would don flimsy silken garments that barely covered her naked curves, embracing the sensuality of her movements.

While King Ivar was protective of her, his desires and rules for Tia differed from those imposed upon his wives. Unlike his queens, whom he seldom allowed to dress seductively, he relished in having Tia on display for all to witness. He would often demand that she strip down to nearly nothing as she performed her exotic dances, and she would serve him wearing the most delicate and revealing silken garments. The king set strict boundaries and rules  for her, forbidding her from bearing children or engaging in affairs with anyone else. However, he did grant his brother Erik the indulgence of sharing in her company, at his discretion.

Tia's existence was a tapestry woven with conflicting emotions—admiration for the king who held her captive, love that burned with an intensity matched by few, and the ever-present longing for the freedom that seemed forever out of reach. Her enigmatic beauty and alluring talents captivated those around her, while her heart bore the weight of both the love she shared with Ivar and the bittersweet longing for a life she left behind.
