About...Norveg
Nestled within the realm of Norveg, a tribe of men and women reminiscent of the mighty Vikings thrived amidst the perennially icy cold weather. Blanketed in heavy snowfalls throughout the year, their land presented a formidable challenge for agriculture. Yet, the inhabitants of Norveg were a resilient breed, adept at adapting to their harsh environment. These tall figures, bearing striking Scandinavian features, were not only hardy but also renowned as fierce warriors.
Within this patriarchal society, an intriguing juxtaposition emerged. Despite the dominance of men in positions of authority, the women of Norveg enjoyed a degree of freedom that surpassed their counterparts in Latium & Alban. They possessed the right to divorce their spouses, owned their own lands, and could inherit titles of their own. In fact, many formidable female warriors emerged from their midst, embodying strength and valor.
The Norvegs were not only skilled in the art of war but also masters of various crafts. Their expertise in carpentry knew no bounds, allowing them to fashion weapons, boats, and ships of unparalleled craftsmanship. With their seaworthy vessels, they ventured across thousands of miles, embarking on daring expeditions to pillage and raid foreign lands. These ventures yielded a bountiful harvest of riches and slaves, further enhancing their status as formidable seafarers.
While the frozen land made cultivation challenging, the Norvegs found solace in the abundance of the surrounding ocean. Expert fishermen, they harnessed the vast expanse of the sea to secure their main source of sustenance—plentiful fish. Additionally, they displayed prowess in hunting, skillfully tracking and capturing wild snow foxes, hares, and boars, thus diversifying their food sources and ensuring their survival in the face of their inhospitable surroundings.
In matters of faith and spirituality, the people of Norveg worshipped the triumvirate of Odin, Thor, and Frey, major deities who resided in Asgard—the inner realm of their intricate universe. They fervently believed in the afterlife, envisioning a celestial realm called Valhalla where fallen warriors traveled to other worlds. In accordance with their beliefs, funeral rites involved cremation or burial accompanied by possessions and sacrifices. Honoring their deep connection to the sea, some of their departed were laid to rest in grand burial boats, sent off on their final voyage upon the waves.
The religion of Norvegs permeated their daily lives, infusing their traditions, rituals, and even their understanding of the cosmos. Through their unwavering faith in the pantheon of Norse gods, they drew strength and solace, forging a spiritual bond that shaped their actions and aspirations.
